Econo is a Puerto Rican supermarket chain founded in 1970 by Facundo Colón and Rafael Acosta. Initially, its goal was to compete with the large supermarket chains already operating on the island. Today, Econo has 63 stores throughout the island, providing employment to hundreds of people.
